SOUND DESIGN

  • Currently working as a sound artist curating an immersive art exhibition ‘Welcome Chorus’, for the 80th anniversary of the Moomins in Gloucester’s historic Guildhall. Supporting both live recording and editing, this involves collecting both harmonies individually and as a group with large diaphragm condenser microphones, ready to spatialise and manipulate voices to create a multi-sensory experience. As well as sparking creativity, this project also teaches how to communicate to people with less experience with being recorded and creates a priority of ensuring all parties are comfortable and engaged. Easing people into the recording process allows for a confident range of voices, creating a dynamic soundscape with optimisation of specialisation of voices.
  • Working with SquidSoup is an amazing opportunity, a company renounced for their immersive installations and boundary pushing experiences, with work seen by millions of people around the globe since 1997, including but not limited to places such as Burning Man Festival, Canary Wharf, Liverpool River of Light and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Being one of four sound artists in this project allows me to have a more hands on approach in making another installation for the company that is not only thought provoking but creates more of a sense of community within Gloucester.
